The Hartells Are At It Again – Cycling For Bryan
Due to our upcoming Charity ride from John O’Groats to Lands’End We have been mentioned in a local magazine, here is the article.
“Some of you may remember that back in 2013 IVR Council member Mark Hartell and wife Katie, who is our AGM photographer, completed a marathon to raise money for the recovery charity RISC. It’s taken a couple of years but they are fundraising again, however this time only Katie is doing the physical stuff and Mark is driving the support vehicle!
During the first two weeks in May Katie and six friends will be cycling over 1,000 miles from John O Groats to Lands’ End to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease (MND). The group decided to raise much needed funds for the charity following the diagnosis in June last year of one of their friends, Bryan, which came ten years after losing another friend to the same disease. The hardest part of the diagnosis is that no doctor or specialist can explain how you develop MND or offer treatment as there isn’t any, hence the need for financing research.
Mark, who is the managing director of Recovery Safe Training Services, will be leading the road side support and back-up team and will be with them, be it behind the wheel, every mile of this challenge. The team are truly grateful for any support so go to www.cyclingforbryan.co.uk to donate.”
